s_m EVERETT
WASHINGTON
City of Everett Human Needs Grant
January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021
Exhibit A
Program Summary
Organization &Program: Seattle Goodwill Industries: Housing Support
Many Goodwill students are struggling financially due to the economic impacts of COVID-19.The primary need for our
students is housing support. Our students may have lost their jobs, or have reduced hours, impacting their finances.Their
expenses may also have increased due to the pandemic. Others may be homeless and need help getting into an apartment.
We determine need through our comprehensive intake process and case management services. Our Case Managers meet
regularly with students to assess their critical basic needs and provide support services, as needed.
These funds will enable us to pay for a students' rent or mortgage,to ensure they can stay housed (or become housed), as
they work towards finding a job or pursing further education. Funds will be paid directly to the landlord or mortgage
company by check.Students will provide Goodwill a copy of their monthly housing bill, and payment will be made in this
amount.
While our Snohomish County Job Training and Education Center serves individuals all throughout Snohomish County, this
$20,000 grant will be used solely to support the housing needs of our students who are Everett residents. The funds will be
able to serve approximately 13-15 individuals during the performance period with housing support.
This grant will be instrumental in helping meet the needs of our Everett students experiencing multiple barriers and seeking
support and training to help get on track to moving out of poverty.
7
