Section 4: The license fee shall be S100.00 per year. The license shall be for a period of one year, beginning January 1 and ending December 31 of the same year or any remaining portion thereof. Section 5: Floor space to be used for dancing shall be designated by enclosing the same on four sides with a black line 4 inches wide, printed on the floor, or by any other means of designation approved by the Chief of Police. Dancing shall be confined to such designated floor space and shall not be permitted elsewhere. Section 6: It shall be unlawful for any person operating any premises herein described to permit or allow dancing therein unless there shall be at all times a licensed inspector upon said premises whose duties shall be to see that all persons under 21 years of age are pro- hibited from entering said premises and that all persons in an intoxicated condition are either denied entrance to said premises or are removed from said premises . Section 7: Any person desiring a license as an inspector as provided in this ordinance shall make application to the City Clerk and shall deposit the sum of $1.00. The application and investigation and issuance of license shall be made in the same manner as provided in Section 3. The license shall terminate on December 31st of each year. Section 8: The Chief of Police may revoke the license of any inspector provided notice is first given to said holder and said holder shall have an opportunity to appear before the City Council in his own behalf. Section 9: All such licensed premises shall be conducted in a quiet and orderly manner and as provided for by the laws of the State of Washington and the rules of the Washington State Liquor Control Board. In addition to the other penalties herein provided upon violation of any of the terms or provisions of this ordinance or the failure of the owner or operator of such premises to con- duct the same in a quiet and orderly manner or as provided by the laws of the State of Washington and the rules of the Washington State Liquor Control Board, said license may be revoked upon opportunity first being given the holder thereof to appear before the City Council in his own behalf. Section 10: Any person guilty of a violation of this ordinance or any of the terms and provisions thereof shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be subject to a fine of not to exceed the sum of 8300.00 or imprisonment in the city jail for not to exceed 90 days, or both such fine and imprisonment . " Section 3: That the form of the ballot to be used in said election shall be as follows: FOR ( ) AGAINST ( ) DANCING IN TAVERNS AND RESTAURANTS. An Ordinance regulating and licensing dancing in taverns and restaurants holding a Washington State Liquor Control Board On Premises License; providing for a fee; and providing for penalties for violation thereof.
