Department, covering the duties of the members of said Volunteer Fire Department and correlating the services to be rendered by said Volunteer Fire Department with the regularly constituted and paid Fire Department and prescribing and setting forth the areas of the City of Everett, geographically, in which such Volunteer Fire Departmentmay act to complement the regularly constituted Fire Department; Provided however, said rules and regulations shall at all times conform with the provisions now existing of the Volunteer Firemen ' s Relief and Pension Act of the State of Washington; and Provided further, no members of said Volunteer Fire Department shall be cal led to active duty unless all available off-shift members of the regularly constituted Fire Department of the City of Everett are called to duty, and when called, such Volunteers shall then act as stand-by personnel , manning reserve appartus, subject to further direction of the Chief of the Everett Fire Department or such officer as may be in charge. Section 4: Said Volunteer Fire Department shall consist of not less than fifteen ( 15) members and no member thereof shall be a part of the regularly constituted Fire Department of the City of Everett; Provided, further, no member of said Volunteer Fire Department shall be entitled to receive any compensation for his services as a member of said department, whether on or off duty. Section 5 : No member of the Volunteer Fire Department shall retain his membership therein if he refuses or neglects to perform the active duties of a member of said Volunteer Fire Department for a period of more than thirty (30) days, except as he may be excused by the Chief of the Everett Fire Department. Section 6: The City of Everett shall satisfy the laws of the State of Washington, (R.C.W. 41 .24.020) with reference to providing -2-
