Provide ductile iron pipe Special Thickness Class 52. <br /> Provide rubber gasket push-on type, or mechanical type non-restrained joints meeting the <br /> requirements of AWWA C111. <br /> Pipe and fittings shall be mechanical joints or push-on as required, as shown on the drawings, or <br /> as specified. Unless otherwise shown on the drawings or specified herein, mechanical joint pipe <br /> shall be used for underground installations. Joints of the push-on type may be used instead of <br /> mechanical joints after the ENGINEER has approved design.
