•
•
•
•
During previous phases of the current project and past proposed projects, multiple geotechnical •
investigations were performed at the site. We have reviewed the following geotechnical reports •
for the site:
• Earth Consultants, Inc., 2001. Preliminary Geotechnical Engineering Study; Eclipse Mill •
Property; Eclipse Mill Road Near Pacific Avenue; Everett, Washington, dated January 23, 2001. •
Prepared for Eclipse Lumber Company. Project No. E-7989
• URS, 2009. Eclipse Mill Road Pipeline Protection Project, Volume 1 of 2, Geotechnical
Investigation and Evaluation of Existing Pipelines, dated May 28, 2009. Prepared for the City.
URS Project No. 33758986 •
• URS, 2009. Eclipse Mill Road Pipeline Protection Project, Volume 2 of 2, Calculation Package,
•
dated May 2009. Prepared for the City. URS Project No. 33758986 •
• Earth Solutions Northwest(ESNW), 2013. Geotechnical Evaluation; Eclipse Neighborhood;
3300 to 3600 Chestnut Street; Everett, Washington, dated May 2, 2013. Report No. ES-
2598.04 •
• ESNW, 2015. Boring logs for B-101 through B-103, dated January 2015, and Test Pit logs for •
TP-1 through TP-6, dated April 2015.
•
According to the reports listed above, previous geotechnical investigations at the site have •
included the following:
•
• Earth Consultants, Inc., 2000: excavated 16 test pits (TP-1 through TP-16)
• URS, 2007: drilled two soil borings (B-1-07 and B-2-07) •
• URS, 2009: drilled seven soil borings (B-1-09 through B-7-09) and vacuum potholed
11 locations •
• ESNW, 2013: drilled two soil borings (B-1 and B-2)
• ESNW, 2015: drilled three soil borings (B-101 through B-103) and excavated six test pits 41
(TP-1 through TP-6) •
•
We base our geotechnical evaluation of the site on the data presented in these reports and
•
accept the professional responsibility for the use and interpretation of the data in developing the
conclusions and recommendations presented in this report. •
•
3.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE •
•
The purpose of this evaluation was to provide geotechnical engineering recommendations for
use in design and construction of the proposed improvements. Specifically, we completed the •
following scope of services:
• Reviewed readily available published geologic data and previous reports for the site furnished •
by Polygon for existing information on subsurface conditions in the site vicinity.
• Prepared a report for the City that primarily addressed potential settlement at the site. •
• Built and installed 16 settlement plates that will be part of a settlement monitoring program. •
• Completed a subsurface exploration program that consisted of drilling three borings to
•
depths of up to 56.5 feet BGS.
•
•
•
G EO DESIGN? 2 Polygon-128-01:091615 •
•
