• 1 k <br /> • <br /> 1 ORDINANCE N O. 3,) <br /> AN ORDINANCE amending Sections 1.16. 130 and 1.16. 150, <br /> 2 City of Everett Code, providing for additional employees in the <br /> Police Department and Fire Department, and declaring an emer- <br /> 3 gency to exist. <br /> 4 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 5 Section 1 : That Section 1.16.130 is hereby amended to read <br /> as follows : <br /> 6 <br /> "1.16.130 Department of Public Safety - Police department. <br /> 7 There shall be the following named officers and assistants in <br /> the Police department, to-wit: <br /> 8 <br /> One Chief; seven Captains, one of whom shall be assigned <br /> 9 and designated as Administrative Assistant; thirteen Sergeants, <br /> three of whom may be assigned as supervisors; twenty nine first <br /> 10 Class Patrolmen, one of whom shall be assigned and designated <br /> as Chief of the School Boy Patrol; five Third Class Patrolmen; <br /> 11 five Fourth Class Patrolmen; six Fifth Class Patrolmen; one <br /> First Class Class Policewoman; one Fourth Class Policewoman; <br /> 12 two Parking Meter Maids; two stenographer Clerks, Fifth Year; <br /> one Stenographer Clerk, Fourth year; one Stenographer Clerk, <br /> 13 Second year; one Clerk Typist, First Year. <br /> 14 It shall be the duty of the officers and assistants in <br /> said Police Department to perform the duties indicated by the <br /> 15 name of their employment, and such other duties as the Chief <br /> of Police or Commissioner of Safety may authorize and direct. " <br /> 16 <br /> 17 Section 2 : That Section 1. 16.150 is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows : <br /> 18 <br /> "1. 16.150 Department of Public Safety - Fire Department. <br /> 19 There shall be the following named officers and assistants in <br /> the Fire Department, to-wit: <br /> 20 <br /> One Chief; one Deputy Chief; two Battalion Chiefs; one <br /> 21 Superintendent of Communications Department; one Assistant <br /> Superintendent of Communications Department; two Technicians; <br /> 22 one Fire Marshall; one Assistant Fire Marshal; one Master <br /> Mechanic; nineteen Captains, one of whom shall be assigned <br /> 23 as Inspector; one Captain Drillmaster; one Chief Fire Alarm <br /> Operator; three Fire Alarm Operators; thirty-eight Fifth Year <br /> 24 Pipemen; one Fourth Ycar Pipemen; two Third Year Pipemen; three <br /> Second Year Pipeman; six First Year Pipemen; one Secretary <br /> 25 <br /> It shall be the duty of such officers and assistants in <br /> 26 said department to perform the duties indicated by the name <br /> of their employment, and such other duties as the Chief of the <br /> 27 Fire Department or Commissioner of Safety may authorize and <br /> direct.
