• • 1 SECTION 18: CITY ENGINEER DEPARTMENT 2 There shall be the following named officers, deputies, assistants and employees in the office of the City Engineer, 3 to-wit: 4 One City Engineer; one Office Engineer; one construction Engineer; two Senior Engineers; one Assistant Engineer; four 5 Junior Engineers; two Senior Engineering Aides; seven Engineering Aides; one Clerk; and one or more Inspectors . 6 Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform 7 such duties indicated by the name of their respective employment and such other duties as the City Engineer and Commissioner of 8 Public Works shall from time to time authorize and direct . (1.16.190) 9 SECTION 18A: PLANNING DEPARTMENT 10 The Planning Department shall be a sub-department of 11 the Engineering Department . There shall be the following named officers and employees in the Planning Department, to-wit: 12 One Planning Engineer. 13 It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such 14 duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize 15 and direct . All employees shall be considered under civil service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department 16 and shall lose no rights by advancement to this department . (1 .16.191) 17 SECTION 18B: TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT. 18 The Traffic Engineering Department shall be a sub- 19 department of the Engineering Department. There shall be the following named officers and employees in the Traffic Engineering 20 Department, to-wit: 21 One Traffic Engineer. 22 It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other 23 duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize and direct . All employees shall te considered under 24 civil service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department and shall lose no civil service rights by advancement 25 to this department . (1 .16.192) 26 SECTION 19: SEWER DEPARTMENT 27 There shall be the following named officers and employees of the Sewer Department, to-wit: 28 One Foreman; one Heavy Equipment Operator; and one 29 Truck Driver. 30 The City Engineer shall be in general charge and have supervision of the Sewer Department . All officers, assistants 31 and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the nature of their employment and as authorized and directed by 32 the City Engineer, and Commissioner of Public Works .
