• <br /> • <br /> 1 SECTION 18: CITY ENGINEER DEPARTMENT <br /> 2 There shall be the following named officers, deputies, <br /> assistants and employees in the office of the City Engineer, <br /> 3 to-wit: <br /> 4 One City Engineer; one Office Engineer; one construction <br /> Engineer; two Senior Engineers; one Assistant Engineer; four <br /> 5 Junior Engineers; two Senior Engineering Aides; seven Engineering <br /> Aides; one Clerk; and one or more Inspectors . <br /> 6 <br /> Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform <br /> 7 such duties indicated by the name of their respective employment <br /> and such other duties as the City Engineer and Commissioner of <br /> 8 Public Works shall from time to time authorize and direct . <br /> (1.16.190) <br /> 9 <br /> SECTION 18A: PLANNING DEPARTMENT <br /> 10 <br /> The Planning Department shall be a sub-department of <br /> 11 the Engineering Department . There shall be the following named <br /> officers and employees in the Planning Department, to-wit: <br /> 12 <br /> One Planning Engineer. <br /> 13 <br /> It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such <br /> 14 duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other <br /> duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize <br /> 15 and direct . All employees shall be considered under civil <br /> service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department <br /> 16 and shall lose no rights by advancement to this department . <br /> (1 .16.191) <br /> 17 SECTION 18B: TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT. <br /> 18 The Traffic Engineering Department shall be a sub- <br /> 19 department of the Engineering Department. There shall be the <br /> following named officers and employees in the Traffic Engineering <br /> 20 Department, to-wit: <br /> 21 One Traffic Engineer. <br /> 22 It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such <br /> duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other <br /> 23 duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may <br /> authorize and direct . All employees shall te considered under <br /> 24 civil service as civil service employees of the Engineering <br /> Department and shall lose no civil service rights by advancement <br /> 25 to this department . (1 .16.192) <br /> 26 SECTION 19: SEWER DEPARTMENT <br /> 27 There shall be the following named officers and <br /> employees of the Sewer Department, to-wit: <br /> 28 One Foreman; one Heavy Equipment Operator; and one <br /> 29 Truck Driver. <br /> 30 The City Engineer shall be in general charge and have <br /> supervision of the Sewer Department . All officers, assistants <br /> 31 and employees shall perform such duties as pertain to the <br /> nature of their employment and as authorized and directed by <br /> 32 the City Engineer, and Commissioner of Public Works .
