CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON
EVERETT POLICE DEPARTMENT
FY 2021 Port Security Grant Program
DHS-21-GPD-056-00-01
(CFDA# 97.056)
BUDGET NARRATIVE
Introduction
The budget information for the FY2021 Port Security Grant Program grant is presented by one
project component area. Funding is sought for the purchase and acquisition of an enclosed
mobile platform trailer, remote operating vehicle and supporting project equipment.
Equipment Total Cost=$178,895 ($134,171 Federal+$44,724 Match)
ENCLOSED MOBILE PLATFORM TRAILER WITH SUPPORTING PROJECT EQUIPMENT
An enclosed mobile platform trailer, remote operating vehicle (ROB) and supporting equipment
will be purchased to assist in the aid and mobility of the Everett Police Department Marine &
Dive Unit. The trailer is designed for storage of dive gear, space for divers to don gear and
inclusive of equipment used to support an operation or exercise in any type of environment.
Additionally, the remote operating vehicle will assist in the search and scan for the detection of
underwater threats and hazards deemed unsafe for divers to search. The increased ability to
detect suspicious underwater objects or threats over a larger area allows us to be a more
effective partner in meeting the mission of the region. Supporting long term operations
throughout the region, the ROV's sensors and digital recording will provide scan, viewing and
searching of any underwater or overhead environment threats such as boat houses, docks or
vessels within the Port.
