The handrails provided for the stairways do not meet the graspability requirements per <br /> IRC 311.7.8.3. Please revise drawings accordingly to meet the grasp ability requirements. <br /> The updated handrail design has been revised and designed to meet R311.7.8.3. <br /> 2. Handrails do not appear to meet the continuity requirements at the ends of the handrails. <br /> Please address the requirement for a safety terminal at ends per IRC 311.7.8.2. <br /> Please see attached plan for an updated design to meet R311.7.8.2 Continuity requirement. The <br /> handrails are now continuous for the full length of the flight,from a point directly above the top <br /> riser of the flight to a point directly above the lowest riser of the <br /> flight. The handrail ends will be returned to its newel posts. <br /> STRUCTURAL <br /> 3. Sheet 2 (Wall Section) does not appear to indicate a schedule of the applicable Special <br /> Inspections for Soils per IBC 1705.6 or the block wall construction per IBC 1705.1.1. <br /> Please revise plans and provided a schedule as required per IBC 1704.3 and 1704.3.1. <br /> The schedule of the applicable Special Inspections for Soils per IBC 1705.6 or the block wall <br /> construction per IBC 1705.1.1. has been inserted within the drawings for your review. <br /> 4. Regarding the handrail design, please provide stamped drawings and calculations for the <br /> handrails as it appears that this is missing from the construction drawings as this appears <br /> to be engineered design per IRC 301.1.3. <br /> The structural calculations for the Rail, Post and Bas late have been added to the drawings for <br /> your review <br />
