RESOLUTION NO. <br />iz <br />EVERETT <br />WASHINGTON <br />A RESOLUTION of the City of Everett establishing a temporary fare waiver for Everett Transit <br />service serving vaccination sites in Everett Transit's service area. <br />WHEREAS, <br />A. The global pandemic has had a devastating effect on Everett's residents, particularly the elderly, <br />persons with disabilities and people for whom the cost of transportation is a barrier. <br />B. Access to vaccination sites for our vulnerable population is a priority. <br />C. Getting as many people vaccinated in the shortest amount of time possible is a critical element <br />of safely reopening the city's economy and recreational activities. <br />D. Through the end of June, Community Transit is providing free transit service to vaccination sites <br />to customers who self -identify getting to a vaccination site or leaving a vaccination site is the <br />purpose of their trip. <br />E. The cost of transit service should not be a barrier to access the vaccine for Everett's residents. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT: <br />1. Everett Transit is authorized to provide fare -free transit service to customers who self -identify <br />that the purpose of their trip is to access a vaccination site or to return from a vaccination site. <br />2.
