L• •1.1. llllllllllll L• I <br />Council President <br />Project: Lease agreement with NW Innovation Resource Center at Conference Ctr <br />Partner/Supplier NW Innovation Resource Center, a Washington non-profit corporation <br />Location: 2000 Hewitt Avenue <br />Preceding action: AVA <br />Fund: 425 <br />Fiscal summary statement: <br />NW Innovation Resource Center (NWIRC) has agreed to a two-year lease term through August <br />31, 2023, with two two-year extension options, to operate a business accelerator at Everett's <br />Conference Center. The monthly rent for approximately 2,000 square feet of internal office and <br />780sf of Hewitt -level storefront is $2,500. <br />Project summary statement: <br />NWIRC will be relocating TheLab@Everett from its current north Broadway location in an Everett <br />Community College building slated for demolition. In this new downtown location on Hewitt and <br />Broadway, NWIRC will continue to be able to offer its valuable business accelerator services to <br />entrepreneurs and inventors in the City of Everett and in Snohomish County. NWIRC primary <br />operations center will be in the internal offices adjacent to the Spectra management offices on <br />the 2nd floor of the Conference Center; the offices have been vacant since the ownership group of <br />the Silvertips relinquished its tease in 2019. In addition, the NWIRC will offer classes and process <br />workshops in the small storefront space on Hewitt that became vacant when the Safe Streets <br />program was sunsetted in early 2020. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize Mayor to execute the lease agreement with NW Innovation Resource Center at the <br />Everett Conference Center <br />
