The amount of the hourly not to exceed contract is $27,400.00. The source of funds is CIP 1. The South Police Precinct — Locker Room Renovation Project is an identified project in the CIP 1 funding model and the 2019 Facilities Condition Assessment. The estimated total project cost is $400,000. Staff will be coming back to Council to amend the funding ordinance after competitive construction bids have been received. Project summary statement: The scope of work includes preparation of preliminary design, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration services. The 21-year-old, 2,706 square foot men's and women's locker room areas have been heavily used by multiple shifts of patrol officers. The locker areas include (129) lockers, (5) showers and (8) toilets. The renovations will include flooring replacement, ceramic tile replacement, shower and toilet fixture replacements, and painting. 2812 Architecture was selected from the MRSC Consultant Roster. The anticipated completion of the construction documents is August 31, 2021. Construction is anticipated to start in October 2021 and be completed in January 2022. Staff will request an amendment to the funding ordinance after competitive construction bids are received. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign a Professional Service Agreement with 2812 Architecture to provide architectural services for the South Police Precinct — Locker Room Renovation Project in an amount not to exceed $27,400.00.
