I
1 For mainline planing operations, the equipment shall have automatic controls, with
I2 sensors for either or both sides of the equipment. The controls shall be capable of
3 sensing the proper grade from an outside reference line, or a mat-referencing device.
4 The automatic controls shall also be capable of maintaining the desired transverse slope.
I 5 The transverse slope controller shall be capable of maintaining the mandrel at the
6 desired slope (expressed as a percentage)within plus or minus 0.1 percent.
7
8 Pre-level course is not anticipated on any of the selected streets. If, however, after
9 plaining operations, drivability issues cannot be resolved with 2" overlay, pre-level will be
10 required as directed and paid for by "HMA Class 1/2" PG 64-22", per ton. For paving, schedule such closure to individual lanes or portions
I 25 thereof that allows the traffic volumes and schedule of traffic volumes required in
26 the approved traffic control plan. Schedule work so that adjacent intersections
27 are not impacted at the same time and comply with the traffic control restrictions
28 required by the Contracting Agency. Each individual intersection closure or
I29 partial closure, must be addressed in the traffic control plan, which must be
30 submitted to and accepted by the Engineer, see Section 1-10.2(2).
31 b.
