I - <br /> 1 ORDINANCE NO. 3845 <br /> 2 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 15.08.030 AND 15.08.040, <br /> CITY CODE OF THE CITY OF EVERETT, PROVIDING FOR THE REDUCTION IN <br /> 3 THE NUMBER OF THE MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION AND APPOINT- <br /> ING THE PLANNING ENGINEER AS SECRETARY OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION. <br /> 4 <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> 5 <br /> SECTION 1: That Section 15.08.030, City Code of the <br /> 6 City of Everett is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> '7 15 .08.030 Membership. The Commission shall consist <br /> of six members which shall include all the present members of the <br /> 8 Commission except the members of the City Council . The term of <br /> office of the Commissioners shall be six years and shall run for <br /> 9 such period of time as they have been previously appointed. All <br /> new appointments shall be made by the Commissioner of Public <br /> 10 Works, whose appointment shall be confirmed by the City Council . <br /> Vacancies occurring otherwise than through the expiration of terms <br /> 11 shall be filled for the unexpired term. Members may be removed <br /> after public hearing by the Commissioner of Public Works, with <br /> 12 the approval of the City Council, for inefficiency, neglect of <br /> duties or malfeasance in office. The members shall be x1ected <br /> 13 without respect to political affiliations, and they shall serve <br /> without compensation. <br /> 14 <br /> SECTION 2 : That Section 15.08.040, City Code of the <br /> 15 City of Everett, is hereby amended to read as follows : <br /> 16 15.08.040 Meetings--Secretary. The Planning Engineer <br /> of Everett shall be the Secretary of the Commission. The Com- <br /> 17 mission shall elect its own Chairman and create and fill such <br /> other offices as it may determine it requires . The Commission <br /> 18 shall hold at least one regular meeting in each month for not <br /> less than nine months in each year.
