• <br /> June 30, 2021 <br /> MAYOR <br /> Mayor Franklin thanked City teams for their work to keep the community safe <br /> during the recent record-breaking temperatures. She spoke about the Governor's <br /> lifting of pandemic restrictions on June 30, and announced that beginning July 1, <br /> City employees will no longer be required to wear masks if fully vaccinated. She <br /> encouraged everyone to have compassion, grace, and space during this transition. <br /> The Mayor reported that she visited the pallet shelter pilot project site, which will <br /> open next week. She encouraged community members to enjoy the Fourth of July <br /> festivities with a reminder that fireworks are illegal in Everett. <br /> OATH — POLICE OFFICERS <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member Bader, <br /> to concur with the appointments of Demethra (Demi) Behn and Stephen <br /> Aguon as new Everett police officers. <br /> • <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> The City Clerk administered the oaths of office, and the Mayor and council <br /> members congratulated and welcomed Police Officers Behn and Aguon. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Tuohy requested an update from City staff on the reopening of <br /> shelters and feeding centers now that pandemic restrictions have been lifted. <br /> The Mayor stated she would provide an update. She noted that business will need <br /> some time to ramp back up following the pandemic. <br /> Council Member Vogeli recognized the recent death of a Seattle police officer and <br /> extended condolences to those who knew her.
