i 1 ORDINANCE NO. 3843 2 AN ORDINANCE levying the general taxes for the City of Everett for the fiscal year commencing January 1, 1962, on all 3 taxable property, both real and personal, in said City, subject to taxation thereon, for the purpose of raising a portion of the 4 revenue to carry on the different departments of said City for the ensuing year, as required by the Charter of the City of 5 Everett, and the laws of the State of Washington; prescribing and apportioning the same into the different funds of said City 6 for the fiscal year, and providing for the collection thereof. 7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Everett duly and regularly adopted as required by law, the estimate of the 8 amounts required to meet the public expense of said City for the ensuing year and the amount to be raised by taxation in said 9 City for said ensuing year from sources other than direct taxation, and 10 WHEREAS, notice that said City Council tentatively com- 11 pleted the budget for the year 1962, and that a copy of said budget would be furnished any taxpayer of the City of Everett 12 on application therefor, and that the City Council of said City would meet in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 13 10:00 A.M. on the 2nd day of October, 1961, for the purpose of fixing the final budget and determing the tax levy and that 14 any taxpayer might appear thereat and be heard for or against any part of said budget, was published in the official newspaper 15 in all respects as required by law, and 16 WHEREAS, the City Council did on the 2nd day of October, 1961, meet in the Council Chambers for said purpose and having 17 heard all persons appearing in favor of or against said propos- ed levy, did then and there make, determine and decide the 18 amount of taxes to be placed upon the current assessment roll to be in the sum of $1,554,808.73, 19 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: 20 SECTION 1: That there be, and hereby is levied upon real 21 and personal property in the City of Everett, subject to taxation thereon, a general property tax for municipal purposes for the 22 ensuing year commencing on January 1, 1962, in the sum of $1,55k,808.73, allocated as follows : 23 General Current Expense Fund $ 701,352.51 24 Firemens ' Pension Fund 100,193.22 25 1957 Gen. Obligation St. Improvement 26 Bond Redemption 186,263.00 27 Library Construction Fund 287,000.00 28 Park Construction Fund 280,000.00 29 Total $7,554,808.73 30 SECTION 2: That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby directed to certify to the County Assessor a copy of this 31 Ordinance in order that the same be extended upon the general assessment roll of said county, in the same manner and at the 32 same time as the levy for State and County taxds is extended.
