ii___.. EVERETT
vim WASHINGTON
City of Everett Human Needs Grant
January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2021
Exhibit A
Program Summary
Organization&Program: ARC: Independent Living
This program aims to equip individuals with disabilities with the knowledge and necessary supports to live a
successful and independent life in their community. We have access to a language line to connect with families
who need to connect in another language. The Arc's programs for Spanish speaking clients offers one on one
client support,educational speakers,and system navigation,etc.
Our work is aimed to inform, educate, and empower individuals with disabilities and their families to successfully
navigate the often complicated service systems and provide necessary support and guidance to live, learn, work,
and play in their community. We can also provide one time emergency assistance to help when there is a crisis but
we don't stop there. We want to make sure the individual has the resources and links to other agencies and/or
services that can keep them from getting into the same situation.
We provide referral to other Arc programs within the Arc,or to other agencies within our county that are able to
collaborate, creating successful futures for people with disabilities, providing support to parents and Siblings.
Program coordination and case management is a large part of our program. Many programs are siloed and
complicated to navigate for anyone but even more so for those that have a developmental disability. The Arc staff
will help clients get connected to the resources needed and additional time is spent helping the individuals gain a
greater understanding of these programs and resources. The Arc coordinators will spend some one on one time
with the client but other learning is from the educational speakers that are brought in to educate the community.
Our program aims to serve all individuals with an intellectual/developmental disability within the City of Everett.
7
