i� — . 4 a ORDINANCE NO. 3838 1 AN ORDINANCE providing for the protection of the public health and safety; examination, regulation, licensing of persons 2 engaged in the business of plumbing or laboring at the trade of plumbing; requiring a permit for installation or alteration of 3 plumbing, gas and drainage systems; creating the office of Plumbing Official and a Board of Plumbing Examiners, and pre- 4 scribing their duties; defining certain terms; establishign minimum regulations for plumbing, gas and drainage systemsand 5 inspection thereof; providing for penalties for violation thereof; and repealing conflicting ordinances; and providing for the 6 adoption by reference of the Uniform Plumbing Code as issued for the year 1961 by the Western Plumbing Officials Association 7 as the Plumbing Code and Ordinance for the City of Everett and superseding Ordinance No. 3404, Everett City Code, R.C.W. 8 2 .16.010 through 2 .16.140. 9 NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOFS ORDAIN: 10 SECTION 1: That the 1961 edition of the Uniform Plumbing Code as prepared and edited by the ��Jestern Plumbing Officials 11 Association, subject to the modifications, additions and changes hereinafter set forth, is hereby adopted as amended, supplemented 12 and modified herein as the Plumbing Code and Ordinance of the City of Everett, Washington, there being three copies of said 13 Plumbing Code on file with the City Clerk of the City of Everett and such Code by reference is hereby made a part of this 14 ordinance as though fully set forth herein. 15 SECTION 2 : That the Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted is supplemented as follows: 16 (a) That Part One, Sec . 1.1 is completed by filling 17 in the blank therein as follows: "Inspector of Sewers and Plumbing" 18 (b) That Part One, Sec . 1 .2 is completed by filling 19 in the bank therein as follows : "person or persons appointed by or as Assistants 20 of the Inspector of Sewers and Plumbing" 21 (c) That Part One, Sec . 1.3 is completed by filling in the tank therein as follows : 22 "Public Works" 23 (d) That Part One, Sec . 1 .7 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: 24 "$300.00" "City" "Two" 25 (e) That Part Two, Sec . 2 .9 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: 26 "December 31" "December 31" 27 (f) That Part Two, Sec . 2 .10 is completed by filling in the blanks therein as follows: 28 "$3 .00" "$3.50" 29 SECTION 3: That Part 1, Sec . 1 . 12, is hereby amended to read as follows: 30 "Sec . 1 .12 -- Cost of Permit 31 Every applicant for a permit to install, add to, alter, 32 relocate or replace a plumbing or drainage system or
