The connection appears to include a 6-inch side spacer between the post and roof decking. <br />The intended construction should be clarified. Additional fasteners should be specified as <br />required. See IBC Sections 107.2.1 and 1603.1. <br />I think you are referring to the glulam beams that will support the roof decking. New <br />drawing "Detail 1" clearly shows the interface between the post, beams, and roof <br />decking. Fasteners are specified in "Detail 1" and included in the specification <br />sheets in the resubmittal 8/6/20. <br />10. The roof construction appears to expose the ends of the glulam beams to weather. The beams <br />should be naturally -durable or preservative -treated wood unless they are provided with a water- <br />proof covering. Where coverings are intended, details for the construction should be included <br />in the construction drawings. See IBC Section 2304.12.2.4. <br />Proposed glulam beams to be coated with PENOFIN ULTRA PREMIUM RED LABEL. <br />New drawing "Detail 3 Beam End" shows the covering of the beam ends by the <br />roofing and fascia system. "Detail 3 Beam End" also shows beam end bevel cut 18" <br />in with beam end thickness at fascia of 3" while the 1"x6" fascia provides enough <br />coverage to completely protect the beam end. <br />This review has been performed for general compliance with the building codes as adopted and <br />amended by the state of Washington and the city of Everett. Corrections and comments made <br />during the review process do not relieve the project from compliance with code and permit <br />requirements.
