Section 1705.17 <br />NAC Response: Provided note #8 to the Code Plan General Notes on sheet G2.01, see <br />attached. <br />The plans should note that the means of egress path at Level 2 from the North stair <br />enclosure to the exterior exit door has equivalent fire -resistive construction of an Exit <br />Passageway (two-hour partitions and 90-minute openings). <br />NAC Response: Provided additional line type and note to Level 2 exit plan on sheet G2.01, <br />see attached. <br />V. The Activity/Dining area is open to the corridor system. As this psychiatric treatment <br />area is less than 1500 square feet, it falls within the provisions of Section 407.2.3 which <br />provides for a non -separated use area. Section 407.2 <br />NAC Response: This is correct and the following criteria has been met: <br />1. Each area does not exceed 1,500 square feet (140 m2). <br />2. The area is located to permit supervision by the facility staff. <br />3. The area is arranged so as not to obstruct any access to the required exits. <br />4. The area is equipped with an automatic fire detection system installed in accordance <br />with Section 907.2. <br />5. Not more than one such space is permitted in any one smoke compartment. <br />6. The walls and ceilings of the space are constructed as required for corridors. <br />It should be confirmed that roller latches are not used on any doors into the corridor. <br />Section 407.3.1 <br />NAC Response: This is correct per the hardware schedule. <br />The procedures for egress from this treatment area should be presented to and <br />approved by the fire marshal's office as part of the emergency planning and <br />preparedness required by Chapter 4 of the IFC.
