Targeted Drainage Report — Twentieth Ave Substation
WO# 100026553
Soils will be stabilized temporarily by application of cover measures such as straw or plastics where cover
measures are needed for unworked soils, 7 days during the dry season, 2 days during the wet season.
The disturbed area to be enclosed within the substation fence will be covered with gravel base (CSBC) as soon as
possible to further protect the underlying soils.
Element #6 — Protect Slopes
The slopes are designed to be at a 3:1 slope and a short length, track walking will be implemented to roughen
the slope and prevent riling. In the unlikely event that erosion becomes a problem wattles will be implement to
further control the runoff.
Element #7 — Protect Drain inlets.
Below grade inlet devices will be installed within the catch basins which could see runoff from the site.
Element #8 — Stabilize Channels and Qutlets
The swale to the north of the substation will have seed applied to provide permanent stabilization for the
minimal about of runoff it sees.
Element #9 —Control Pollutants
Spill prevention and control measures will be used if construction equipment requires on site fueling. Washout
of concrete trucks will be performed in a designated wash out areas.
Element #10 — Control De -Watering
Should it be necessary to dewater an excavation, a sediment control bag will be used at the discharging end of
the hose and the resulting runoff will percolate into the existing substation rock and slowly infiltrate.
Element #11 —Maintain BMPs
All BMPs will be maintained throughout the project as required to ensure their continued functioning.
Element #12 — Manage the Project
The project is less than one acre, therefore the construction stormwater general permit is not required. The site
will be inspected for conditions which could impact the quality of the stormwater as well and the effectiveness
of the erosion and sediment control measures.
Element #13 — Protect Low Impact Development BMPs
Not applicable.
2.3 MINIMUM REQUIREMENT #3 — Source Control of Pollution
Minimum requirement #3 is not applicable. The proposal only replaces an existing switchgear, which is not a
source of pollution.
Page 7
