In 2019, the City entered into a grant agreement with the Washington State Recreation and Conservation Office program for Youth Athletic Facilities (YAF) to partially fund the Legion Park Sport Court Renovation. This grant funding amount is $93,491. The original CIP-3 funding amount is $145,000. An additional CIP-3 funding amount of $80,000 is needed to complete the project which brings the amended funding amount to $318,491.00. Project summary statement: The status of the Legion Sport Court Renovation project is that the renovations to the sport courts have been completed and are open to the public. This work included resurfacing and restriping of the courts including striping for pickleball. In addition, two adjustable basketball hoops have been added to allow two half -court basketball courts. Other improvements include a new tennis net and posts, two benches, a drinking fountain, a solar trash compactor, a bicycle rack. ADA improvements include new access gates, an improved pathway, and ADA compliant parking stalls. Additional funding is required to make the necessary repairs to the adjacent parking lot. The City has received firm pricing from the Job Order Contractor for this work. The asphalt work is anticipated to start and be completed in September 2021.
