July 14, 2021 <br /> pallet shelter project welcomed approximately 20 individuals this week. Mayor <br /> Franklin stated that she would ask Police Chief Templeman to provide a future <br /> briefing on recent legislation out of Olympia that may make addressing street- <br /> level issues more challenging. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Roberts reported on his liaison meeting this week with Yorik <br /> Stevens-Wajda and Julie Willie of Community, Planning and Economic <br /> Development. Council Member Roberts also moved to establish a climate <br /> advisory committee that would be attached in some form to the Planning <br /> Commission. Council Member Bader seconded the motion introduced by Council <br /> Member Roberts. <br /> Council Member Bader commented on the increase in homelessness, and <br /> proposed the Council consider an amendment to the no-sit no-lie ordinance that <br /> would add additional zones for those areas that are disproportionately affected. <br /> He also added that with school starting up in a couple of months, it may be <br /> appropriate to look at the hours of operation for the Library. Council Member <br /> Bader requested a future briefing from the Library director. <br /> President Stonecipher stated she would work with Administration to schedule a <br /> future briefing. <br /> Council Member Murphy provided a liaison briefing from his meeting with Police <br /> Chief Templeman. He announced that the Chief and command staff released EPD's <br /> annual report last week, which is available on the City website. He thanked the <br /> Chief and staff for the effort extended to make this report available. <br /> Council Member Tuohy thanked the Mayor for providing an update on <br /> homelessness. She stated she was pleased with the opening of the pallet shelter <br /> project and looked forward to more updates in the future. <br /> Council Member Vogeli reported that she met with President Stonecipher and <br /> Council Member Roberts to discuss various actions relating to the installation of <br /> S. <br /> 2 <br />
