= <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE allocating additional funds for the <br /> Police Pension Department for the year 1961 and declaring an <br /> emergency to exist. <br /> WHEREAS, the Supreme Court has entered its decision <br /> requiring the payment of additional pensions for retired police <br /> officers, and <br /> WHEREAS, such expenditures could not have been reason- <br /> ably foreseen at the time of the making of the budget for the <br /> year 1961, <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> Section 1 : That an emergency is hereby declared to <br /> exist and th-d—Hafr-OT $8,500.00 is hereby allocated to the Police <br /> Pension Department for the payment of police pensions in addition <br /> to that now set forth in the budget for the year 1961. <br /> Section 2: That there is hereby appropriated, out of <br /> the General Current Expense Fund of the City of Everett, the sum <br /> of $8,500.00, which shall be charged against the Police Pension <br /> Department and which sum shall be paid by the issuance of warrants <br /> or emergency warrants drawn by the proper officers of the City of <br /> Everett as provided by law. <br /> CITY OF EVERETT, WASHINGTON <br /> By , <br /> MAYOR <br /> Attest: <br /> , - <br /> / <br /> to City Clerk <br /> Passed: JOINI- 461 <br /> Published : JAN <br />
