Letter from <br /> Apex Companies.LLC,Portland,OR.to Department of Ecology.December 17,2014.•Phase II environmental site assessment.Claremont Village <br /> Shopping Center.Prepared by Apex for Phillips Edison&Company,Salt Lake City.UT.November 3,2014.The site is a shopping center in a <br /> commercial area adjacent to a residential area.A Phase I ESA identified the following recognized environmental conditions:•Current and former <br /> drycleaners(one operated 1962-1975 at space 4851,currently occupied by Wild Birds;Bella Cleaners has operated since 1994 at space 4925).• <br /> Former fueling station at the facility currently operated by Les Schwab.A closure report for removal of four USTs documented ORO,lead,and PCE <br /> above Method A levels at this location.•Use of PCE at Bella Cleaners in a closed loop dry-cleaning system.Three discrete soil samples(approximately <br /> 20,40,and 60 ft bgs)and one grab groundwater sample were collected from each of five exploration points,two each near Les Schwab and Wild Birds <br /> and one by Bella Cleaners.Groundwater was encountered at 40-60 ft bgs.Two grab soil samples were collected beneath the slab of Bella Cleaners.All <br /> soil and groundwater samples were analyzed for VOCs.The samples collected near Les Schwab were also analyzed for TPH.Two subslab vapor <br /> samples each were collected near Wild Birds and Bella Cleaners.Two soil vapor samples were collected near Les Schwab and one was collected near <br /> Wild Birds.Vapor samples were analyzed for VOCs.
