• <br /> August 25, 2021 <br /> Mayor Franklin acknowledged and thanked the Diversity Advisory Board for their <br /> work, in partnership with Tulalip Tribes, to prepare the resolution. She stated the <br /> resolution acknowledges the strong connections of indigenous peoples to the land <br /> on which our city is located and the importance of the relationship between the <br /> Tulalip Tribes and the City. <br /> Mayor Franklin introduced Ryan Miller, Director of Treaty Rights and Government <br /> Affairs and member of the Tulalip Tribes. Mr. Miller provided a statement <br /> regarding the history of the Tulalip Tribes and its connection to the land. He stated <br /> he looks forward to continued work with the city of Everett and to continue <br /> sharing the story and history of his people. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member <br /> Moore who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • <br /> RESOLUTION — INDIGENOUS PEOPLE'S DAY PROCLAMATION <br /> Moved by Council Member Vogeli,seconded by Council Member Tuohy to adopt <br /> Resolution No. 7681 proclaiming the second Monday in October as Indigenous <br /> People's Day. <br /> The Mayor and Council Members thanked Council Member Vogeli for introducing <br /> the resolution and the Diversity Advisory Board for its work in bringing the <br /> resolution forward. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Member <br /> Moore who was excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • <br /> 5 <br />
