ORDINANCE NO. 37917 <br /> AN ORDINANCE directing the maintenance of a public <br /> telephone in the private residences of certain officers and <br /> employees of the City of Everett and prescribing conditions <br /> therefor. <br /> WHEREAS, the City Commissioners of the City of Everett <br /> have determined that it is reasonable and necessary that a public <br /> telephone at public expense be maintained in the private homes of <br /> certain officers and employees of the City of Everett, and <br /> WHEREAS, the Attorney General has criticized such <br /> practice, and <br /> WHEREAS, the City Attorney has advised the City <br /> Commissioners that such practice is proper, provided the employees <br /> and officers shall maintain in their residence at their own <br /> expense a private telephone line for private purposes, and <br /> provided further that said public line shall be used only for <br /> public purposes; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN : <br /> Section 1 : That a public telephone line shall be <br /> maintained to the private residence of the following officers <br /> and employees hereafter named, provided that said officers and <br /> employees shall first have and maintain at all times a private <br /> telephone line at their place of residence to be used for <br /> private purposes, and provided further that said public line is <br /> not used for private purposes but only for public purposes. <br /> e9wmissioner of Safety <br /> Commissioner of Public Works <br /> Police aief <br /> Fire Chief <br /> Street Superintendent <br /> Water Superintendent <br /> Asst.
