A, <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 3778 <br /> AN ORDINANCE submitting to the qualified electors of <br /> the City of Everett a proposition authorizing a special levy <br /> upon real and personal property in the City of Everett in the <br /> year 1961, payable in the year 1962, of approximately sib <br /> mills which shall be in addition to the fifteen mills and other <br /> levies authorized by Article VII, Section 2, as enacted by <br /> Amendment 17 of the Constitution of the State of Washington, for <br /> the purpose of raising $ 287,000.00 to be used for the <br /> purpose of renovations, additions and improvements to the Public <br /> Library of the City of Everett located at Hoyt and /e4. Everett <br /> Avenues, providing for the form of ballot to be used at said <br /> election; and declaring an emergency to exist, and directing the <br /> County Auditor to hold a special election on November 8, 1960. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: <br /> SECTION 1: It is hereby found and declared that an <br /> emergency exists requiring the submission of the proposition <br /> herein set forth, and the County Auditor of Snohomish County is <br /> hereby directed to hold a special election on November 8, 1960, <br /> in the City of Everett in conjunction with the State general <br /> election for submission of the proposition herein set forth. <br /> The City Clerk is hereby directed to deliver a certified copy of <br /> this ordinance to the County Auditor. <br /> SECTION 2: That there shall be submitted to the <br /> qualified electors of the City of Everett at the general municipal <br /> election to be held on the 8th day of November, 1960, a <br /> proposition authorizing the City to levy a tax upon real and <br /> personal property within the City of Everett in the year 1961, <br /> payable in the year 1962, of approximately six mills which <br /> shall be in addition to the fifteen mills and other levies <br /> authorized by Article VII, Section 2, as enacted by Amendment 17 <br /> of the Constitution of the State of Washington, for the purpose <br /> of raising 24-`f287,000.00 to be used for the purpose of <br /> renovations, additions and improvements to the Public Library of <br /> the City of Everett located at Hoyt and E'eri .ttc Avenues . <br /> SECTION 3: That the form of ballot to be used in such <br /> election shall be as follows : <br /> SPECIAL LEVY - LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS <br /> Shall the City of Everett be authorized to levy <br /> in the year 1961 a tax of approximately si.& <br /> mills which shall be in addition to the 15 mills <br /> and other levies authorized by Amendment 17 of <br /> the Constitution of the State of Washington for <br /> the purpose of raising $ 287,000.00 to be <br /> used for the purpose of renovations, additions <br /> and improvements to the Public Library of the <br /> City of Everett located at Hoyt and Pacific <br /> Avenues? <br /> Yes / / <br /> No / l <br /> SECTION 4: That there is hereby created a special fund <br /> to be known as the Library Construction Fund, which shall be used <br /> - 1 - <br />
