AN CRDINANCE submitting to the qualified electors of the City of Everett a proposition authorizing a special levy upon real and personal property in the City of Everett in the year 1961, pay- able in the year 1962, of approximately six mills which shall be in addition to the fifteen mills and other levies authorized by Article VII, Section 2, as enacted by Amendment 17 of the Constitu- tion of the State of Washington, for the purpose of raising " 280,000.00 to be used for the purpose of renovations, additions and improvements to the City Park and Recreational System of the City of Everett, acquistion of land reasonable and necessary for such purposes, and purchase of the necessary recreational equip- ment, providing for the form of the ballot to be used at said el- ection; and declaring an emergency to exist, and directing the County Auditor to hold a special election on November $, 1960. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1: It is hereby found and declared that an emergency exists requiring the submission of the proposition herein set forth, and the County Auditor of Snohomish County is hereby directed to hold a special election on November $, 1960, in the City of Everett in conjunction with the State general election for submission of the propostion herein set forth. The City Clerk is hereby directec to deliver a certified copy of this ordinance to the County Auditor. SECTION 2 : That there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the City of Everett as the general municipal election to be held on the 8th day of November, 1960, a propostion author- izing the Cityto levy a tax upon real and personal property within the City of Everett in the year 1961, payable in the year 1962, of approximately six mills which shall be in addition to the fifteen mills and other levies authorized by Article VII, Section 2, as enacted by Amendment 17 of the Constitution of the State of Wash- ington, for the purpose of raising 4e 280,000.00 to be used for the purpose of renovations additions, and improvements to the City Park and Recreational System of the City of Everett, acquistion of land reasonable and necessary for such purposes, and the purchase of necessary recreational equipment.
