ORDINANCE NO. 3775 <br /> An ordinance declaring an emergency to exist, calling <br /> a special election to be held on the 8th day of November, 1960, <br /> and submitting to the qualified electors of Everett a proposed <br /> amendment to Article II, Section 77 of the Unarter of the City <br /> of Everett, relating to expenditures of money on elections and <br /> directing the County Auditor of Snohomish County to conduct a <br /> special election in conjunction with the state general election <br /> for said purposes, and declaring an emergency to exist, and pro- <br /> viding that this ordinance shall take effect upon its passage <br /> and publication. <br /> NOW , THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DUE ORDAIN : <br /> SECTION 1: That an emergency is hereby declared to <br /> exist and a special election is hereby called for the 8th day <br /> of November, 1960. <br /> SECTION 2: That the following proposed amendment to <br /> Article IX, Section 77 of the City Charter of the City of Everett, <br /> relating to expenditures of money on elections as set forth in <br /> Section III hereof, oe submitted to the qualified electors of <br /> the City of Everett at a special election to be held on the $th <br /> day of November, 1960. <br /> S C ION 3 : That Article IX, Section 77 of the City <br /> Charter of the City of Everett be amended to read as follows : <br /> SECTION 77: Expenditures of honey on Elections. <br /> No candidate for office of City Commissioner <br /> shall expend directly or indirectly more than a sum equal <br /> to 10,E of the annual salary fixed for such office in the <br /> primary election, and not more than a like sum in the <br /> final or general election. <br /> Every elective officer shall, prior to his <br /> taking office , file an affidavit that he has not violated <br /> this act and shall contain a complete itemized statement <br /> of expenditures made by him or by any other person in his <br /> behalf in each such election. <br /> - 1 - <br />
