(definition) <br />An unlawful structure is one found in whole or in part to be occupied by more persons than permitted <br />under this code, or was erected, altered or occupied contrary to law. <br />IPMC 106.1 Unlawful acts. <br />It shall be unlawful for a person, firm or corporation to be in conflict with or in violation of any of the <br />provisions of this code. <br />IRC R105.1 Permit Required <br />Any owner or owner's authorized agent who intends to construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, demolish <br />or change the occupancy of a building or structure, or to erect, install, enlarge, alter, repair, remove, <br />convert or replace any electrical, gas, mechanical or plumbing system, the installation of which is <br />regulated by this code, or cause any such work to be done, shalt first make application to the building <br />official and obtain the required permit. <br />
