<br />OF IMC, CHAPTERS 3 AND 9, AND IRC CHAPTER 10.
<br />SOLID FUEL BURNING APPLIANCES SHAD BE PROVIDED BOTH TIGHT FITTING METAL OR CERAMIC
<br />GLASS DOORS AND ME OF THE FOLLOWING;
<br />1. A SOURCE FROM OUTSIDE THE STRUCTURE OF PRIMARY COMBUSTION AIR, CONNECTED TO THE
<br />APPLIANCE AS PER MANUFACTURER'S SPECIFICATION. THE AIR INLET SHALL ORIGINATE AT A POINT
<br />BELOW THE FIRE BOY, THE DUCT SHALL BE 4 INCHES OR GREATER IN DIAMETER, NOT EXCEED 20
<br />FEET IN LENGTH, AND BE INSTALLED AS PER MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS;
<br />2. THE APPLIANCE AND MANUFACTURER'S RECOMMENDED COMBUSTION AIR SUPPLY, AS AN
<br />INSTALLED UNIT, SHALL BE CERTIFIED BY AN INDEPENDENT TESTING LABORATORY TO HAVE PASSED
<br />TEST NO, II -NEGATIVE PRESSURE TEST, SECTION 12.3, OF ULC 627-M1964 "SPACE HEATERS
<br />FOR USE 'NTH SOLID FUELS."
<br />FIREPLACES SHAD BE PROVIDED WITH READILY ACCESSIBLE MANUAL OR APPROVED AUTOMATIC
<br />TIGHT nTONG FLUE DAMPERS, EXCEPT FIREPLACES WITH GAS LOGS MUST COMPLY WITH IMC 901
<br />OR LIQUEFIED PETROLEUM GAS INSTALLATIONS SHALL BE PER NFPA 58 AND 54. A 6 SQ. IN.
<br />OUTSIDE SOURCE FOR COMBUSTION AIR SHALL BE PROVIDED WHIT AN OUTSIDE AIR DUCT DAMPER
<br />(EXCEPTION: WA CERTIFIED FIREPLACES MALL.. BE INSTALLED WITH THE COMBUSTION AIR SYSTEM
<br />NECESSARY FOR TH R SAFE AND EFFICIENT COMBUSTION AS SPECIFIED BY THE MANUFACTURER).
<br />SITE BUILT FIREPLACES SHALL HAVE TINT FITTING GLASS OR METAL DOORS, OR A FLUE DRAFT
<br />INDUCTION FAN OR AS APPROVED FOR MINIMIZING BACK -DRAFTING. FACTORY BUILT FIREPLACES
<br />SHALL USE DOORS LISTED FOR THE INSTALLED APPLIANCE.
