izi <br /> EVERETT <br /> WASHINGTON <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7692 <br /> A RESOLUTION placing the Walsh Platt Motors Building at 2902 Rucker Avenue <br /> on the Everett Register of Historic Places. <br /> WHEREAS, <br /> 1. The City of Everett adopted Ordinance 1355-87 (amended 1956-93) authorizing the <br /> Everett Historical Commission to consider the merits of properties for placement on the <br /> Everett Register of Historic Places and to recommend to the Everett City Council that <br /> properties be placed on the Everett Register; and <br /> 2. EMC 2.96.050 identifies criteria by which a building would be considered eligible for the <br /> Everett Register of Historic Places; and <br /> 3. The owners of the commercial building at 2902 Rucker Ave. have requested that their <br /> building be placed on the Everett Register of Historic Places so that on-going renovations <br /> will be eligible for the Special Valuation property tax incentive program; and <br /> 4. The Everett Historical Commission held a public hearing on August 24, 2021, and determined <br /> that the long-time auto dealership, built between 1928-30, is at least 50 years old and eligible <br /> for consideration to be added to the Everett Register of Historic Places; and <br /> 5. The Walsh Platt Motors building retains the distinctive architectural characteristics of the <br /> Spanish Colonial Revival style; and <br /> 6. The building is identified as a contributing structure in the Hewitt Avenue National Historic <br /> District and meets the designation criteria for inclusion on the Everett Register of Historic <br /> Places. <br /> NOW,THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND EVERETT CITY COUNCIL THAT: <br /> The historic Walsh Platt Motors building, located at 2902 Rucker Avenue, shall be added to <br /> the E rett Register of Historic Places. <br /> ?id .4/\, <br /> Councl Member introducing Resolution <br /> Pa and approved this 15th day of September, 2021. <br /> / N. <br /> Bren a Stonecipher, cil President <br />
