As a sub- <br />recipient, the Everett Police Department can access a portion of the $114,000.00 in grant funding <br />awarded to Snohomish County law enforcement agencies through the Washington Traffic Safety <br />Commission. There is no match requirement and no minimum participation obligation. <br />Project summary statement: <br />The Everett Police Department works in coordination with the Washington Traffic Safety <br />Commission and other Snohomish County law enforcement agencies to conduct high visibility <br />traffic safety enforcement activities under the Target Zero Task Force grant program. The <br />program goal is to reduce traffic-related deaths and serious injuries by engaging in high visibility <br />patrols in the areas of impaired driving, distracted driving, and motorcycle safety. Execution of <br />this interagency agreement allows the City of Everett to participate in these important safety <br />emphases and seek reimbursement for officer overtime costs during the term of October 1, 2021 <br />to September 30, 2022. <br />Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): <br />Authorize the Mayor to sign the Interagency Agreement with the Washington Traffic Safety <br />Commission regarding participation as a sub-recipient in the Region 10 Target Zero Task Force <br />traffic safety grant project. <br />
