Attachment C
WORK PLAN
FY 2020 Emergency Management Performance Grant COVID-19 Supplemental
I
2
Emergency Management Organization: Everett Office of Emergency Management
The purpose of EMPG-S funds is to assist state, local, and tribal emergency management activities supporting the prevention of,
preparation for, and response to the ongoing Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency. Funding will be used to
support planning and operational readiness for COVID-19 preparedness and response, development of tools and strategies for prevention,
preparedness, and response, and ongoing communication and coordination among federal, State, local, tribal, and territorial partners
throughout the response. EMPG-S grant funds are intended to support the National Preparedness Goal and fund activities and projects
that build and sustain the capabilities necessary to prevent, protect against, mitigate the effects of, respond to, and recover from those
threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk to the security of the Nation.
Program Area #1 Title
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
WORK PLANNED
RESULT OF THE WORK
Purchase fit testing equipment and accessory supplies to support Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) needs of COVID-19 responders.
Fit testing equipment will ensure that respiratory PPE is most effective. This
equipment will expand the City's ability to fit test more people from City
departments and community partners. This equipment will improve PPE
effectiveness for the COVID-19 event and other incidents in the future
where respiratory health is a concern. By purchasing fit testing equipment,
the City can slow the spread of COVID-19 by protecting the health and
safety of our City staff and the public they interact with.
Purchase PPE for City staff, community partners, and the public.
By purchasing PPE (masks, face coverings, gloves, etc.) the City can slow the
spread of COVID-19 by reducing the potential for transmission. Providing
PPE will help to protect the health and safety of City staff who interact with
the public and members of the public, especially those who are most
vulnerable.
1
Program Area #2 Title
EOC/ECC Staffing
WORK PLANNED
RESULT OF THE WORK
Staff the City Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and County Emergency
Coordination Center (ECC) to support the COVID-19 response.
The EOC and ECC have been stood up to support response activities and
plan for future needs related to the COVID-19 pandemic. These efforts
coordinate resources and activities to slow the spread of COVID-19 and
address the needs of the community and organizations serving them.
DHS-FEMA-EM PG-S-FY20
Page 21 of 35 City of Everett, E20-224
