M v ORDINANCE NO. 3774 AN ORDINANCE amending Section 1.16.190, Everett City Code, providing for one Construction Engineer and one Office Engineer, and creating a Planning Department, and providing for one Planning Engineer, and creating a Traffic Engineering Department and providing for one Traffic Engineer, and declaring an emergency to exist. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY OF EVERETT DOES ORDAIN: SECTION 1: That Section 1.16. 190, City of Everett Code, is amended to read as follows : 1.16.190 City Engineer Department. There shall be the following named officers, deputies, assistants and employees in the office of the City Engineer, to-wit: One City Engineer; one Construction Engineer; one Office Engineer; two Senior Engineers; one Engineer; two Associate Engineers; one Assistant Engineer; five Junior Engineers; one of whom shall be assigned as Traffic Engineer and one assigned as Planning Engineer; two Senior Engineering Aides; four Engineering Aides; one Clerk; and one or more Inspectors. Said officers, assistants and employees shall perform such duties indicated by the name of their respective employment and such other duties as the City Engineer shall from time to time authorize and direct, except the Junior Engineer assigned as Traffic Engineer and the Junior Engineer assigned as Planning Engineer shall be under the direction of the City Commissioners. SECTION 2: Planning Department. There is hereby created a Planning bepartment, which shall be a sub-department of the Engineering Department. There shall be the following named officers and employees in the Planning Department, to-wit: One Planning Engineer. It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize and direct. All employees shall be considered under civil service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department and shall lose no rights by advancement to this department. SECTION 3: Traffic Engineering Department. There is hereby created a Traffic Engineering Department, which shall be a sub-department of the Engineering Department. There shall be the following named officers and employees in the Traffic Engineering Department, to-wit: One Traffic Engineer. It shall be the duty of such employee to perform such duties indicated by the name of his employment, and such other duties as the Commissioners of the City of Everett may authorize and direct. All employees shall be considered under civil service as civil service employees of the Engineering Department and shall lose no civil service rights by advancement to this department. - 1 -
