0 I
Drew Martin
From: Drew Martin
Sent: Monday,July 12, 2021 3:27 PM
To: 'taylor@essmwa.com'
Subject: City of Everett Permit Services: 111 SE Everett Mall Way (M2106-086) - First Building
Intake Review
Hello Taylor,
Your application has been received and a permit set up. However, the submitted documents are not sufficient
for us to perform a review at this time. Construction-level documents need to be submitted for
review. Preliminary comments are provided below to assist in preparing the drawings, but these are not
intended to provide a comprehensive review. Depending on your experience with the model codes and
preparing documents, we recommend consulting with a design professional to assist you.
1. The submitted sketch is not sufficient to show the proposed work. Construction level drawings should
be submitted for review.
2. The drawings should include a key plan indicating the story(s) and location(s) of the proposed work.
3. The description of work indicates that ductwork should be modified. Modification of ductwork does
not appear to be shown.
4. It is not clear if the building has rated assemblies that will be impacted by the proposed
work. Penetration of rated assemblies may require dampers, firestopping, or other measures. The
construction of the building should be established and stated in the drawings, and details provided as
needed for protecting penetrations in rated assemblies. See IBC Table 601.
5. It appears that the project includes modification or replacement of a rooftop unit. The proposed work
should be clarified. The plans should include a roof plan showing the unit. If the unit is being replaced,
the existing and new unit weights should be specified. A structural evaluation of the supporting roof
structure may be required if the revised unit weight exceeds 5% of the existing weight.
Review of your project will be performed in the order received once the required documentation has been
submitted. Please let me know if you have questions.
Drew Martin, P.E.,S.E.
Li
IIIAssociate Engineer—Commercial Plans Examiner I Permit Services
425.257.8813 13200 Cedar Street, 2nd Floor, Everett,WA 98201
EVERETT Hours: M/W/Th/F: 7:30am-12:OOpm & 1:00pm-3:00pm; Tu: 1:O0pm-3:00pm
everettwa.gov I Facebook I Twitter
COVID-19 Update: Please reference our website& online resources for updates to our service during the
COVID-19 pandemic.
