ENVIRONMENTAL A O S ADS SERVICES c APPENDIX B Technology Overview: Rain Alert 111 & ECHO RainAlert III Rain Gauge Rainfall measurement is a critical and related factor for assessing wet weather flows. ADS' RainAlert III systems provide high quality rainfall data. The system uses tipping bucket technology and has two important design features including a finger filter located at the base of the funnel and integrated insect screens located on all openings. Both features enhance performance reliability and improve data quality. The RainAlert III system includes electronics hardware for data capture and cellular transmission to the cloud-based PRISM Hardware as described in Appendix A. It supports multiple applications including SSO monitoring, by-pass , monitoring, lift station back-up alarming, Combined Sewer °ck, activation detection, stormwater system depth monitoring and ,� many other open channel flow applications. ECHO is a low-cost system and has established a new generation of level monitors with its patented narrow-beamT"" ultrasonic sensor which can measure 20' of depth into an 8" I' pipe. Additionally, a pressure sensor is capable of measuring up to 8' above the system should it be submerged. Its third sensor detects system alignment angle and provides assurance that quality data is being collected. ECHO data is transmitted to the cloud-based PRISM software for viewing and alarming. It uses the PRISM blockage PREDICT app to detect and provide early warning of developing blockages. With this capability, it provides utility maintenance staff with a means to clean only as needed.
