We understand that concerns have <br /> been raised by the City of Everett Public regarding geotechnical aspects of the proposed retaining wall <br /> and construction. Their comments were presented in a comment letter dated September 17, 2018, <br /> prepared by Thad Newport. For our use in preparing this memo, we were provided with structural plan <br /> sheets titled "Connell Residence Slope Stabilization," dated August 9, 2018, prepared by CG <br /> Engineering. We have been requested to review the plans and provide our response to the City's <br /> comment. In the following sections, we have provided our plan review comments and responses to the <br /> City's comments of the proposed retaining wall. <br /> PLAN REVIEW <br /> We have reviewed the geotechnical aspects of the provided retaining wall plans and found the plans to be <br /> in general compliance with our recommendations as presented in our previous geotechnical report. <br /> Project plans indicate that the shoring wall will be constructed utilizing W8x31 soldier piles spanned <br /> with 4-inch by 12-inch timber lagging. The exposed height of the shoring wall will be a maximum of 6- <br />
