The site is <br /> currently occupied by a single-family residence within the northwest-central portion of the site. The <br /> topography within the site appears to be gently sloping from northwest to the southeast 'within the <br /> northwestern portion of the property, with a moderate to steep southeast-facing ravine slope below the <br /> existing residence within the southeastern portion of the property. We understand that the structure <br /> addition has experienced distress due to settlement on the ravine side. You have requested a geotechnical <br /> evaluation of the site slopes in the vicinity of the affected portion of the structure and recommendations <br /> for underpinning the residence. <br /> SCOPE <br /> The purpose of this study is to explore and characterize the site surface and subsurface conditions, and <br /> provide general recommendations regarding the observed settlement and proposed stabilization repairs. <br /> Specifically,our scope of services for this project included the following: <br />
