Project summary statement: Snohomish County operates a Diversion Center facility to provide temporary shelter and access to basic social services programs for individuals awaiting treatment or stable housing. The City of Everett is invited to continue its participation in the Diversion Center Program under the conditions set forth in this Intergovernmental Agreement. There is no fee for the City to utilize the Diversion Center under the current agreement, however access to the facility is dependent upon the continued employment and involvement of the City's law enforcement embedded social workers, who will serve as case managers for program participants referred by the City. The City will also be responsible for any incidental items or services needed during the participant's stay. These costs, if any, will be paid for out of the First Responders and Safe Streets Flex Funds. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Authorize the Mayor to sign the Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA-2022-03) for Snohomish County Diversion Center Participation at no cost to the City of Everett.
