• <br /> October 13, 2021 <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Members <br /> Stonecipher and Tuohy who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> ACTION ITEMS: <br /> GRANT APPLICATION — RFP FOR LESS THAN LETHAL EQUIPMENT <br /> Moved by Council Member Roberts, seconded by Council Member Bader, to <br /> authorize city staff to apply for and if awarded, authorize the Mayor to sign all <br /> necessary documents and agreements with the Washington State Department <br /> of Commerce regarding the application, acceptance, and utilization of the <br /> Request for Proposal for Less than Lethal Equipment in the amount of <br /> $50,569.00. <br /> Council Member Vogeli commented on the wording in the Request for Proposal • <br /> relating to the use of de-escalation tactics, including a description of special <br /> actions that would require less than lethal equipment. <br /> Police Chief Templeman responded to Council Member Vogeli's questions <br /> regarding de-escalation training and situations that might require use of less than <br /> lethal equipment. <br /> Council Members expressed support for the challenging work performed by the <br /> Police Department and the need for additional equipment. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes, except Council Members <br /> Stonecipher and Tuohy who were excused. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> • <br /> 6 <br />
