November 10, 2021 <br /> The Deputy City Clerk administered the oath of office, and Council Members <br /> congratulated Police Officers Heyward and Fritsche. <br /> COUNCIL <br /> Council Member Murphy commented on the Everett Herald article released this <br /> week regarding the potential purchase of a hotel located in Everett for the <br /> homeless population. He stated that it was unfortunate that the project had <br /> gotten this far along without the City Council being informed,and he has questions <br /> and concerns regarding impacts on the neighborhoods, police officers, safety, and <br /> so on. He made a motion to work with the City Attorney to draft a letter to send <br /> to the County asking the County to pause any further efforts on the homeless <br /> hotel project until such time as the City Council can be briefed by County Staff and <br /> provide feedback on the project. Council Member Vogeli seconded the motion. <br /> Council Member Murphy agreed to work with City Attorney David Hall to draft the <br /> letter and bring it back to Council for further consideration. <br /> Council Member Roberts stated he attended the Riverside Neighborhood meeting <br /> alongside Council Member Bader, where they discussed the California Street <br /> Bicycle plan. <br /> Council Member Vogeli commented that she is interested in setting up a briefing <br /> with the County for more information regarding the purchase of a hotel located <br /> within City limits for the homeless populations. She also attended the Westmont <br /> Holly Association and the Everett Housing Authority Board meeting. <br /> Council Member Bader attended the Snohomish County Health District Board <br /> meeting where the current budget was discussed and interesting topics regarding <br /> what has happened during COVID-19 and what could be expected in the future. <br /> ADMINISTRATION UPDATE ON PRIOR BUSINESS <br /> Deputy Mayor Nick Harper had no comments or updates. <br /> 3 <br />
