Fiscal summary statement: Preceding action: Award: January 13, 2021 The source of funds for this project is 401 Water and Sewer Utility Fund Fund: 401 Water and Sewer Utility Fund A breakdown of the amounts of the dredging contract is as follows: Base Bid Change Orders Total Completed Sales Tax Final Contract Price $ 982,449.89 $ (236,673.01) $ 712,177.00 $ 69,308.74 $ 781,485.74 The City terminated the contract with Merrell Brothers, Inc. for convenience on April 20tn 2021 resulting in a deduct change order in the amount of $236,673.01. The City will hold 5% retainage in the amount of $39,074.29 until it receives approval from the Department of Revenue and the Department of Labor & Industries to release retainage. Project summary statement: The Merrell Brothers, Inc. has completed the 2021 Biosolids & Backwash Solids Removal Project in accordance with the plans and specifications and to the satisfaction of the Public Works Department. Recommendation (exact action requested of Council): Accept the execution of the 2021 Biosolids & Backwash Solids Removal Project as complete and authorize the Mayor to sign the Certificate of Completion with Merrell Brothers Inc. in the amount of $781,485.74
