The award is $90,000.00 for use in <br /> calendar years 2022 and 2023 for the following purpose(s): <br /> • Social worker services to assist public defense attorneys. <br /> Enclosed is a Grant Agreement for your review and signature by an authorized representative of the City <br /> of Everett. The Agreement includes grant reporting templates required during the two-year grant cycle. <br /> The signed Grant Agreement should be returned to OPD by December 30, 2021 by postal mail or by <br /> email to Lindsey.Townsend@opd.wa.gov. (If the City requires an extension,please contact OPD.) A <br /> conformed copy will be sent to you for your records. <br /> One half of the grant funds will be sent by postal mail to you in early January, and the second half will <br /> be sent in January 2023. The checks will be issued using State Vendor Number: SWV0000348-00. If <br /> you want the check mailed to a different person or office,please let us know. If the City of Everett uses <br /> state BARS coding,these grant funds should be received under BARS revenue code 334.01.2X. <br /> Chapter 10.101 RCW requires cities awarded funds to demonstrate to OPD that they are either meeting <br /> the public defense standards referenced in RCW 10.101.030, or that the state funds are being used to <br /> make appreciable demonstrable improvements to public defense services. OPD's Public Defense <br /> Services Managers are available to assist the city and its public defense attorneys in implementing <br /> statutory and Supreme Court requirements. All participating <br /> cities will be required to submit four grant reports.
