It appears that an R=6.5 is being proposed for the design of the lateral force resisting <br /> system of the structure. However, the building's wall construction does not contain wood <br /> structural panels for lateral resistance. Please provide revisions to the lateral force resisting <br /> system or revise the R-factor for the appropriate construction of these walls indicated in <br /> A1.0. Please provide documentation indicating that the walls are rated for lateral <br /> resistance and are within acceptable limits of the demands calculated. See ASCE 7-10 <br /> Table 12.2-1. Revise base shear as required. <br /> 2. It appears in the design calculations that the design pressures used for wind checks are <br /> less than the minimum design pressures for walls and roof per Sec 27.1.5 of the ASCE 7- <br /> 10. Please revise these pressures and the affected base shear calculations. <br /> 3. Please provide the design bearing pressure used to check the foundations provided on the <br /> drawings. See IBC 2015 Sec 1603.1.6. Please include checks for shear and flexure of the <br /> footing's design. <br /> 4. Permanent foundations are required to have frost depth of 18"minimum from finished <br /> grade.
