• <br /> December 1, 2021 <br /> Lori Cummings, Administration, stated that the 2022 proposed budget does <br /> adequately fund the Library for seven-days-a-week operation. <br /> There were no citizens who wished to speak. <br /> Moved by Council Member Moore, seconded by Council Member Roberts, to <br /> close the public hearing. <br /> Roll was called with all council members voting yes. <br /> Motion carried. <br /> COUNCIL BILL 2111-48 <br /> THIRD AND FINAL READING: <br /> • AN ORDINANCE adopting the 2022 annual budget for the City of Everett, <br /> Washington <br /> Moved by Council Member Moore, seconded by Council Member Murphy, that <br /> this is declared to be the third and final reading of Council Bill No. 2111-48. <br /> Moved by Council Member Murphy, seconded by Council Member Bader, to <br /> amend the motion by adding eight police officer positions to the 2022 annual <br /> budget to be funded by increasing General Fund COPS grant revenue by <br /> $1,002,040, increasing Police Fund 031 expenditures by $1,422,480, and <br /> increasing the Non-Departmental Fund 009 budgeted vacancies offset amount <br /> by ($420,440). <br /> Council Member Murphy also reported that, in collaboration with Chief <br /> Templeman, he plans to bring forward a proposal in the next two weeks regarding <br /> recruitment and retention of police officers. <br /> Council Member Roberts encouraged continued opportunities to strengthen <br /> diversity. <br /> 11 <br />
