In 2022, the City will be starting use of the AdobeSign electronic signature software platform in contracting and other applications. The DocuSign electronic signature software platform may also be used in some circumstances. In addition, the City will be implementing an electronic contract management system. This resolution adopts a policy for use of electronic signatures. This policy is consistent with electronic signature policies adopted by other Washington cities. It is worthwhile to note that this resolution is a limited document that solely applies to how the City signs contracts and documents. It changes nothing with respect to the content of those contracts and documents and does not change anything about how contracts are approved by Council. This resolution only concerns transitioning from signing with a pen to signing by pressing a button.
