From the project description of work, it appears that the existing deck is <br /> being altered to accommodate the proposed hot tub. However, proposed plans <br /> do not indicate how the existing deck is to be re-framed or resupported due to <br /> the new deck opening. There also do not appear to be additional drawings <br /> noting the relative location between the opening and existing deck. Please <br /> clarify. IRC 106.1.1 <br /> 2. Design calculations appear to have been provided which appear to constitute <br /> engineered design per IRC 301.1.3. Also, calculations have been provided for <br /> the gravity condition, but lateral calculations do not appear to be addressed for <br /> the proposed deck construction. Please provide calculations and drawings <br /> stamped by a registered design professional addressing both lateral and gravity <br /> loads in accordance with the IBC. IBC 107.1. <br /> In order for the processing of your application to continue, it will be necessary <br /> PERMIT SERVICES to provide the Building Division with two new sets of revised construction <br /> documents reflecting the corrections requested.
