I have received your corrections letter and provided the <br /> following information below: <br /> 1. Request to Provide a Plan View of Carport Walls <br /> a. The walls were listed on the plans as"Optional"as their purpose was esthetic only in the plans. <br /> b. We will not be doing any walls on the carport as we want to keep it a carport. <br /> c. This has been removed from the plans as a result. <br /> 2. Details of the Guard <br /> a. This Guard shall be no less than 36 inches in height as measured vertically from a line connecting the <br /> leading edges of the treads. <br /> b. Guard openings shall be no larger than 4"from the walking surface to the required guard height <br /> (minimum of 36") <br /> c. The Guard will attach from the side of the deck utilizing prefabricated metal, plastic,or composite,and <br /> attached by the standards outlined by the manufacturer. <br /> d. Detail pages A-A and B-B reflect how the posts will attach to the deck, but in short attached to the inside <br /> face of the rim joists. <br /> 3. How is the 4x4 guard post located on the south side of the structure closest to the house is attached. <br /> a. This post shall be anchored to the house picking up studs in the existing house walls using a minimum of <br /> (8)%" lag bolts by length sufficient to go through post and capture 80%of thickness of stud in wall. <br /> b. Bracing may be used between the post and the stud if stud does not line up with the guard rail line. <br /> c. If a Pre-fabricated metal or composite guard post is utilized (in lieu of a 4x4 wood post),it will be <br /> attached by the standards outlined by the manufacturer or a.and b.above,whichever is applicable. <br /> d. Guard post anchors(if applicable by manufacturer requirements)shall have a minimum capacity of <br /> 1,800 pounds. <br /> 4. Details on the 2 Beams with leaders pointing to them but no description <br /> a. Those are the 2 steel C channels. <br /> b.
